The second selection round of the Academic Startup Competition is just around the corner! On December 14th, forty-five pre-selected academic start-ups will present themselves to an expert jury of (international) investors and companies, among which start-ups from the Demonstrator Lab are well represented. Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, having entrepreneurship as a spearhead, is hosting the selection round which is being opened by Margrethe Jonkman, chairman of the VU Executive Board.
The forty-five competing startups are in the race to get a chance to participate in workshops, promotional programmes and peer-to-peer learning to help founders accelerate the growth and scalability of their companies. The line-up of competing startups are from all Dutch universities, and no less than ten of them are affiliated with the Amsterdam knowledge institutes. Upon selection for the final, they will be diving deeper into the innovation ecosystem and get the opportunity to develop a network of peers, experts and mentors. First, they have to present themselves in the second selection round.
