We process your personal data because you use our services and/or provide this data yourself. Depending on your interaction with DLAB, we may process the following information:
Site visit
If you respond via one of the forms on our website, we ask for your name and email address.
Requests for services, information, or events
When registering for a program, event, or requesting information, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, organisation, and position. This data is shared with the responsible persons so that we can respond to your request effectively. Your data will only be shared with third parties involved in the event or request after you have given explicit permission.

Special and/or sensitive personal data
Our website and services do not intend to collect data from visitors under 16 years of age, unless they have permission from a parent or guardian. However, we cannot verify a user’s age. We encourage parents to be involved in their children’s online activity. If you believe we have collected data from a minor without consent, please contact us at dlab@vu.nl, and we will remove the information.

How long we retain data
We store personal data for a maximum of three years after your last interaction with us, unless legal obligations require longer retention. Consent-related data is stored for at least five years.

Sharing personal data with third parties
We share your data only when necessary to fulfil our agreement with you or comply with legal obligations. In some cases, we share your data with third parties, but only with your explicit consent. We enter into data processing agreements with all partners who process data on our behalf to ensure proper security and confidentiality.

Analytics
DLAB reserves the right to apply analytics to gain insight into website usage and improve its services. IP addresses are partially anonymised and not linked to other services. This data is used solely for internal evaluation and website optimisation.

Only authorised DLAB team members have access to your personal data, and only for purposes relevant to their role.

To do so, send a request to dlab@vu.nl. Please include a copy of your ID (with passport photo, MRZ, document number, and BSN blacked out) so we can verify your identity. We will respond within four weeks. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
