Learn what matters. Apply it now.

At DLAB, we believe in learning by doing and learning from each other. That is why every project in the lab is supported by a combination of expert-led workshops and peer-driven coaching sessions. These sessions are not just optional extras, they are an essential part of your startup journey.

You gain insight, test ideas, and develop the skills needed to turn ambition into progress.

Monthly Workshops

Each month, we host a hands-on workshop led by an invited expert. The workshop cycle follows the six KTH Innovation Readiness Levels: team, customer, technology, business, IP, and funding. The topics cover what every early-stage founder needs to know, including:

Customer discovery and validation

Value proposition design

Product development and prototyping

Startup finance and early funding

Team building and co-founder dynamics

Marketing, branding, and storytelling

Legal, IP, and university spin-off strategy

Workshops are structured to be practical and focused. Sessions typically include:

A 30-minute expert input with key insights and real examples

A 60-minute guided assignment or working time

A 30-minute peer discussion to reflect and refine

The goal is to leave with something tangible—something you can apply to your project the same day.

Peer Coaching Sessions

Once a month, DLAB users come together in peer coaching groups of 4 to 8 participants. These sessions are led by experienced coaches, such as business developers, entrepreneurs or academics with startup experience.

What happens:

You share what you have done, what you are stuck on, and what is next.

The group reflects, offers feedback and learns from each other.

The coach facilitates, identifies patterns and connects dots across the network.

You fill out a monthly progress form based on the KTH Innovation Readiness Levels. This helps both you and the DLAB team keep track of your development, challenges, and opportunities. Peer groups are flexible and matched by project phase or field. For example, research-driven projects often share challenges around IP, funding, and tech transfer and may be placed together.
